My Artistic Process: From Inspiration to Creation
Creating art that captures the essence of the Yorkshire Dales is a journey filled with inspiration, meticulous craftsmanship, and heartfelt dedication. Here’s a glimpse into my artistic process, step by step.
Step 1: Inspiration in the Countryside
The first step in my process begins with a journey into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. With my sketchbook and camera in hand, I head out into the countryside, where inspiration is everywhere. I sketch and take photos, capturing the essence of the landscape and wildlife. The rolling hills, vibrant wildlife, and charming villages provide endless inspiration, and these initial sketches and photos serve as the foundation for my work.
Step 2: Drawing the Final Composition
Back in my studio, I draw out the final composition in pencil. This step lays the groundwork for the piece, allowing me to refine the details and ensure that the composition captures the beauty and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales. Each line and detail is carefully considered, setting the stage for the detailed work that follows.
Step 3: Preparing the Colours
With the final composition in place, I turn my attention to the colours. I sharpen my pencils, sort them into colours, and match them to the photos I've taken.
